Teacher handbook
What good teaching looks like on Haven, and the rules that keep it that way. Read this before you publish.

01
Publishing a course
Describe what the course actually covers — no outcome or score guarantees
Only publish material you own or are licensed to use
Structure it into sections and lessons so students know what comes next
Set a price you would defend to a parent
02
Talking to students
Haven Chat exists between a verified teacher and a student enrolled in one of your courses. That is the whole permission model — you cannot message someone who has not enrolled with you.
Respond to enrolled students within a few days
Never ask a student to move the conversation or the payment off Haven
Keep your phone number, email and payment handles out of chat, course descriptions and lesson videos
Messages are scanned for contact details and flagged for moderation
03
Working with students under 18
Minors are on both sides of Haven. Assume any student may be under 18 unless you know otherwise.
Keep every conversation about coursework
A guardian may request the full conversation history at any time
Never arrange contact outside Haven with a student under 18 — this ends the account immediately
04
What ends an account
Requesting off-platform payment or contact details
Harassment, threats or hate speech
Sexual content, or any content that sexualises a minor
Fake reviews or manipulated enrollment activity
Impersonating a credential, school or qualification you do not hold
Breaches involving the safety of a minor result in immediate termination and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement.
