About this course
Foundation & Networks (Units 1–2): Developing a strong understanding of state-building processes from 1200–1450 and examining the complex dynamics of the Silk Roads, Indian Ocean, and Trans-Saharan trade networks. Land-Based & Maritime Empires (Units 3–4): Analyzing the consolidation and expansion of major land-based empires, including the Ottoman, Mughal, and Qing Empires, as well as the global transformations brought about by the Columbian Exchange and transoceanic maritime expansion. Revolutions & Industrialization (Units 5–6): Exploring Enlightenment ideas and political revolutions while examining the economic, social, and political transformations caused by the Industrial Revolution and the expansion of imperialism. Global Conflict, Decolonization & Globalization (Units 7–9): Evaluating major developments of the 20th and 21st centuries, including the World Wars, Cold War, decolonization, independence movements, and the development of an increasingly interconnected global society. Exam Writing & AP Skills: Developing effective strategies for SAQs, DBQs, and LEQs, including evidence-based argumentation, contextualization, sourcing, document analysis, and synthesis, with regular practice under timed conditions.
